Welcome to my website.

I have designed this website to give a very brief overview of what I do. However, please do feel free to call or contact me for a more information.

My name is Heather Salmons I am an Independent private Baby Nurse (Maternity Nurse), I specialise in looking after newborn babies.

I have over 15 years experience working with newborn babies and children. I have worked all over the world with many different types of families.

 I have worked with all kinds of babies, from the most angelic to those who have suffered severe colic, reflux or been born prematurely. I also have a wealth of experience with multiple births.

 I absolutely love the work I do and for me, working with babies is just perfect. I do also understand that as a first time parent (or even an experienced parent) having a newborn baby can be very daunting. They do not come with an instruction manual. Once you leave the hospital it is completely natural to be utterly overwhelmed by the situation and the sheer scale of the responsibility you have for such a small little bundle.

Many parents sit at home completely shell shocked asking themselves questions such as: When do I feed him? How much should I feed him? Why won’t he settle? Why does her dirty nappy look like that? How many blankets should I put on her tonight? The list is endless.

In just the same way as you had a driving instructor teach you to drive or a training course for a new job, I can show you everything you need to know about how to look after a newborn baby. You will have a happy and contented baby plus the time to have a shower and a glass of wine. I allow mothers time to recover from birth whilst making sure the baby is cared for and gently integrated into the family life. I happily support either breast or formula feeding.
